Inside the Rail business unit
Q.Where are the rail business unit's offices and manufacturing locations? 
A.

Corus has offices and manufacturing sites in the UK and France. The rail business unit headquarters are located in York, UK. The principle Rail Products manufacturing sites are in Workington, UK and Hayange, France. The head office of the Rail Products business is located in Saint Germain, Pris, France. Other manufacturing sites include the long-welded rail depot at Castleton, UK.

The Railway Infrastructure Services head office is located in York. Other offices can be found in Manchester, London, Rotherham and Birmingham, UK. Joint venture businesses Corus Cogifer is located in Scunthorpe and GrantRail is located in Doncaster.

Q.What is the structure of the Rail business unit of Corus? 
A.

The Rail business unit is part of the Long Products Division of Corus. It is sub-divided into main market-focused operating units. These are:

  • Rail Products
  • Railway Infrastructure Services

Each operating unit has its own management team. In addition, Corus holds a 50% stake in two Joint Ventures:

  • Corus Cogifer
  • Grant Rail
