| With the largest permanent way design office in the UK, Corus is recognised as one of the market leaders in improving the alignment of curves, increasing route speeds and reducing journey times at minimum cost to the client. Data is produced in MOSS format, which is then suitable for forming the basis for the design of all civil engineering works. Layouts are designed using Interactive MOSS and annotated to the client's requirements using MX. The designs are extremely accurate and co-ordinates for setting out are automatically generated, together with quantities relative to new earthworks. All features are identified on the detail design together with any effects such as demolition, alteration to improve clearances, diversions etc. Other typical areas of study for our Permanent Way team include gauging route clearance for the introduction of new freight and passenger vehicles, as well as track and infrastructure survey and design to achieve the clearances for HMRI and Network Rail.
