Rail price increases

01 Jun 2004

Due to the continued global rise in steel costs, it is necessary for Corus to increase its rail products prices by adding an additional surcharge of €20 from July 1st 2004.

Gérard Glas, Director of Corus Rail Products said,

“We are managing this situation the best we can, we spoke to our customers in March and informed them that prices had to rise due to extraordinary market conditions and that a surcharge would be reviewed quarterly. This is what we are doing.

Market conditions in the short to medium term are predicted to remain as they are now. There appears to be no abatement of increases in input costs and demand for steel, which could lead to a shortage of supply. We will do our best to ensure our customers’ needs are met.”
