Corus to display entire rail capability at Railtex 2004
02 Aug 2004
For the first time Corus will be bringing all its capabilities in the rail industry together in one place when it exhibits with its joint venture businesses GrantRail and Corus Cogifer at this year’s Railtex between November 2nd and 4th.
The full range of Corus’ rail products and railway infrastructure services will be on display as well as new innovations in in-bearer switch operation offered by Corus Cogifer, and all engineering disciplines offered to the Railway Industry by prime railway infrastructure contractor GrantRail Group (Corus/Volker Wessels J.V.).
Particular focus will be given to the latest product innovations and developments:
- Innovations for CTRL Phase 2: Corus’ long welded rail, developed specifically for the high speed link between Kent and London and which will be delivered to site via a specially developed delivery system
- Micro Head Hardened Rail (MHH): a rail developed to enhance the life of rail in track thereby providing performance and cost savings
- Sogenox™: a product developed by Corus with anti wear and anti screech properties, designed specifically for tramways.
- Modular platform innovations: Corus’ modular platform solution
- Railway Infrastructure Services: a wide range of services including design consultancy and technical consultancy
As well as looking to the future with these innovative products, Corus’ stand will highlight its long pedigree and wealth of experience in the rail business. Corus’ relationship with the rail industry dates back to the 1800s when Workington Iron and Steel company, which later became part of British Steel and then Corus, was a customer of Robert Stephenson and Co Ltd. Stephenson’s Rocket, on loan to Corus from the National Railway Museum, will be on display on the Corus stand.
